Texas Tech University at Hill College recently celebrated its first three graduates at a reception May 11.

The graduates are: Heather Aikman of Cleburne, bachelor’s degree in general studies with concentrations in history, sociology, and political science; Kathy Hughes of Cleburne, bachelor’s degree in general studies with concentrations in sociology, health professions and communication studies; Emalee Payne of Hillsboro, bachelor’s degree of applied arts and sciences with concentrations in organizational leadership and health professions.

“The partnership with Hill College allows students from the local area to earn both an associate degree and a bachelor’s degree without leaving Johnson County,” said Dr. Lewis Snell, director of Texas Tech University at Hill College. “We are fortunate to have such a good relationship with Hill College and the Johnson County community. We look forward to building degree options and growing the opportunities for Texas Tech students for years to come. The first three students are a sign of what is to come in Johnson County. We are excited to continue the growth of our programming and to make four year options a reality for many students in the future.”

Texas Tech University at Hill College now offers three bachelor’s degrees in human sciences, applied arts and sciences in applied leadership, and a bachelor of arts in political science. Twenty-four minors are also offered.
